"The 2018 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru is a big, potent wine. Apricot, white flowers, mint, and white pepper give the Valmur bright aromatics to complement its rich, dense fruit. A wine of textural richness and drive, the Valmur is going to need a number of years to come into its own, but it is quite promising, even if some rough contours remain at this stage. The Valmur is made from purchased fruit. Sadly, there is just one 600-liter tonneau of this wine."

"his too was initially mildly reduced before eventually revealing ripe but equally cool notes of green fruit, spice, petrol, and plenty of seashore influences. The rich, concentrated and quite serious large-scaled flavors possess a mouthcoating, even creamy mid-palate mouthfeel, that contrasts considerably with the powerful, muscular, and youthfully austere finish. This is pretty much textbook Valmur, which is to say a big and robust wine though one that in 2018 is a bit monolithic though a few years of aging should help."
