This wine hits me in a nostalgic way.
Ripe red cherry, a touch of raspberry, a little baking spice, and that smooth, almost velvety texture that Russian River does so well. There’s enough freshness to keep it lively, but it’s generous and easy at the same time.
No overthinking. No lecture required.
There’s something refreshing about opening a bottle that just tastes good without needing a backstory about soil types and barrel programs.
This is “grab a Costco rotisserie chicken on the way home, throw it on a plate, maybe open a bagged salad and call it dinner” wine.
Low effort. High reward.
I love Burgundy. That will never change.
But I also miss having a solid, well-made California Pinot around that I don’t have to overthink.
This is that bottle.
