This is an extremely rare Riesling, coming from one of the most legendary and famous vineyards in the Middle Mosel valley. Extremely steep, south facing, with not too dry volcanic soil with influences of blue Slate.
Weingut Markus Molitor is a leading wine estate in the Mosel, they gain worldwide attention in 2015 – and the nickname "Herr 300 Punkte" (Mr 300 Points) – when three Auslese Rieslings from the 2013 vintage received 100-point ratings from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
He makes 3 styles of wines - White Capsule = Dry, Green Capsule = Slightly off dry, and Gold Capsule = Naturally sweet and botrytis wines (only made in vintage when weather allows) Gold Capsule are naturally the hardest to come by as they are heavily depended on good weather during harvest so the grapes can hang on the vine longer without rot.
