Thibault started this brand in 2001, coming from a family of serious (and famous) winemaker he represent himself well and was named “My wine of the year” by Matt Kramer from Wine Spectator in 2016. This vineyard is the neighbor just below the Premier Cru Les Fuées and Grand Cru Bonnes Mares. Vines are 60 years old vine.
It’s the perfect representation of the style of Chambolle Musigny with a lot of finesse and silkiness at the beginning. This wine always offers a little bit more structure and tannins due to the deep soils.
Liger-Belair’s holding is in this vineyard is only 0.25ha and he makes roughly 600 bottles of this wine annually, a special treat.
With the tariff and recent Burgundy price hike, many Burgundy have become out of reach for most Burgundy drinker, I’m very proud and happy to find this bottle at $159.99 (Including all tariff and import tax) compared to $233 (excluding tariff) that’s being offered elsewhere. It’s $70+ savings per bottle on this gem. Only 12 bottles available, enjoy!
