You might have heard me talked about “liqid gold” the famous dessert wine of d’Yquem, but do you know they make a dry white wines that’s so exotic, so sexy, so enticing that you will have no choice but fall in love with it after you try it?
This rare dry white of d’Yquem called “Y,” which is pronounced (Ygrec) is made blend of close to 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. Interestingly, this is almost the complete opposite of the grape blend that is placed in Chateau d’Yquem! The wine is only made in the best vintage, and less than 1000 cases each time it is produced. The grape used here is not declassified grape as you might imagine, but the berries are picked before the harvesting of the grapes for the production of Chateau d’Yquem has started!
The 2017 vintage was outstanding, getting 98 points by James Suckling and 95 points by Wine Spectators. I’m so happy and proud to share the limited allocation with you at $148.88 per bottle (compared to $180 elsewhere)
After reading all these, why don’t you give it a try before it’s gone?
