Angie’s Two Cents -
Paradigm Cabernet is one of the most consistent, classic, and delicious Cabernet from Napa Valley. It also doesn't hurt that it is from one of the best AVA in the Valley - Oakville. Made by the very talented Heidi Barrett herself (heard of a little cult wine call screaming eagle? She also worked with Dalla Valle, Amuse Bouche, Grace Family, and Diamond Creek just to name a few) and Heidi has been with Paradigm since day one, and making the BEST value wine from Oakville that money can buy. The wine is smooth, structured, the 2015 is one of the most concentrated, delicious, dark fruit driven vintage since I started tasting this wine 10 years ago. Not to be missed!
About the Winery:
Paradigm Winery was founded in 1976 by Marilyn and Ren Harris. Both long-time residents of Oakville, CA, Marilyn's family established residence in the area in 1890 and Ren's family immigrated to California in 1769. Renowned winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett has been with Paradigm since day one, producing estate grown, limited production premium wines. Only the best fruit is used for Paradigm, the rest is sold to highly-regarded local wineries like Groth, Nickel & Nickel and Duckhorn. Heidi and her winemaking team sustainably farm a 55 acre estate that is planted to 37 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 12 acres of Merlot totaling 12 acres, 4 acres of Cabernet Franc and 1 acre each of Zinfandel and Petite Verdot. All the wines are aged in French oak barrels and matured in bottle. Paradigm wines are made in an Old World style – balanced, meant for food and built to age.
