Beauty and Class Redefined
Barolo, the new kid on the block that’s making waves in an industry where Bordeaux and Burgundy reign supreme. A king among red wines, Brezza Barolo redefines the definition of a beautiful sensory experience.
Made from small Nebbiolo grapes, in the Piedmont region of Italy, Brezza Barolo 2014 is aged for a minimum of 38 months, 18 of which are in wooden barrels. The unique Calcareous Marl soil has a higher clay content than usual, resulting in thin-skinned, bright red fruits that take a touch of the sting out of the tannins.
Cannubi is hands-down the most prestigious vineyard in the area, with an elegant and rare production to match.
A Precious Ruby Worth Rambling About
Tannic, powerful, earthy. As though it was mined straight from the most pristine layers of the earth itself - like an exquisite gem.
On the nose, you’ll get aromas of woodland berry, wild rose, crushed mint, and rich fruit. It’s been known to remind you that licorice and tobacco are also welcome scents in red wine.
The palate is superbly well-balanced, with a freshness that counteracts the earthy aroma. Expect lingering notes of juicy red cherry, pomegranate, aromatic herbs, and almond chocolates. The tannins give this wine an elegance worth ranting about, with a medium-length finish that summarizes this as a truly captivating experience.
Pair it with sauteed mushrooms, pasta, or a simple cheese board.
This comes from a young winery, so you can expect it to age superbly down the line on your rack or in your cellar. You’ll enjoy what this wine has to offer immensely today, but even more so in 4 - 6 years.
Prestige at an Affordable Price Point
This is your chance to try a world-class wine that won’t break the bank. A beautiful gift, special occasion drink, mid-week indulgence, or long-term investment, Brezza Barolo 2014 ticks all the boxes.
Generally, anything from Barolo vineyards - particularly Cannubi - would set you back $100 or more. But of course, I had to wave my magic Sommelier wand and bring it to you for only half that.
