2008 Nicolas Potel Chambertin Grand Cru

If you haven’t heard of Nicolas Petal, don’t worry, he’s not just some random guy from the street, he’s the son of Gerard Potel, of the famous Domaine de la Pousse d’Or. Given his background, it wasn’t a surprise when he won the best new winemaker award in 2003, creating a huge buzz internationally.

Unfortunately, his grew too much too soon, and ran into financial problems 10 years later and eventually had to give up Nicolas Potel in 2009.

With that said, this led me to the best deal of Burgundy I will offer this year…
