Winemaking legend Heidi Barrett said “This is the closest thing I made to Screaming Eagle” and I 100% agree!
The crown jewel of La Sirena, Cabernet Sauvignon is Heidi’s favorite varietal to work with, and the wine she is best-known for throughout her career. This Cabernet has all the makings of Heidi’s classic, elegant and balanced style, produced from some of the finest vineyards in Napa Valley.
Typically ~90% Cab. Sauv from Calistoga/St. Helena, blended with small amounts of Merlot, Cab Franc, and Petit Verdot.
100% French Oak barrels, 30% new for ~18 months
Typically 14.5% alcohol
400 cases produced
Suggested drinking range: Delicious upon release, cellaring for 5-10 years is great, but also has potential to last 20+ years stored properly. This wine ages beautifully.
Suggested pairings: Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, Kobe/Wagyu beef (any high quality red meat), roast duck with pomegranate sauce, ribs, veal chops, portobello mushrooms, grilled summer vegetables, Caprese salad.
Since 1996, Heidi has made Cabernet Sauvignon under the La Sirena label in the layered, Bordeaux-style blend that brought her such acclaim at Screaming Eagle and other cult wineries. For 25 vintages and counting, La Sirena Cabernet has maintained its position of excellence and gained fans all over the world for its complexity, elegance, and purity of fruit. Each year, La Sirena Cabernet is exemplary of the specific vintage, yet also maintains a lineage and consistency year to year that keeps fans and wine lovers coming back. Opulent and lush as a young wine, it’s also a favorite among collectors for its age-worthiness.
Our beautiful 2013 Cab is deep dark blackberry in color with open aromas of ripe berries and all the black fruits, currants, plums, and blackberries. Very pure and concentrated with lovely french oak nuances and layers. Across the palate this is about as good as it gets. Delicious, expressive, explosive yet refined. Perfect balance and ripeness. It has the right amount of chewy textural tannins in the mid palate with amazing length. This is a blockbuster vintage and a great example of Cab Sauv at its best. Impressive right out of the shoot but will prove to be quite age worthy as well. I’m quite proud of this wine and hope you love it too!
傳奇釀酒師Heidi Barrett 宣佈「這是我釀造過最接近嘯鷹酒莊的酒。」這樣的一瓶酒怎麼能錯過?
前幾天有榮幸和 Screaming Eagle’s original winemaker Heidi Barrett 一起喝幾款她的酒, she said and I quote “This is the closest thing I made to Screaming Eagle” 喝完之後我真的無話可說, 只能說這句評語我百分百舉雙手贊同！

95 Points Robert Parker
More tannic, structured and masculine is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, emerging from the same grape sources with the identical blend to the 2012. The wine has an inky purple color, a slightly more restrained nose of blackberry and blueberry fruit with cassis pushing through along with licorice, charcoal and graphite. This is dense, tannic, full-bodied wine that needs to be cellared for another 3-4 years and drunk over the following 20-25.
